To remove vocals from a song on iPhone, open this page in Safari, tap the upload box and choose the song from Files. TuneSplit separates the voice with the Demucs AI model on our server and gives you the instrumental and the vocals as MP3s, which you save to Files with one tap. It is free with no app and no sign-up: 1 fast split a day, songs up to 10 minutes.

If you separate songs every day for practice, an app with a practice player can be worth it. For one karaoke track or one cover, the browser is faster: there is nothing to install and nothing to cancel.

Getting the song onto your iPhone first

  • A song file you own (MP3, M4A, WAV): save it to Files from Mail, AirDrop or iCloud Drive.
  • A song in a video, such as a screen recording or a clip from Photos: upload the MP4 or MOV directly, the audio is separated.
  • A voice memo with music behind it: share it from Voice Memos to Files, then upload it.
  • Songs from Apple Music or Spotify are protected and cannot be uploaded. Use a file you own or bought as a download.

What to do with the instrumental on your iPhone

  • Sing over it: play it from Files with headphones and record yourself in Voice Memos or GarageBand.
  • Use it under a video: import the MP3 into CapCut or iMovie from Files.
  • Practise an instrument: switch to 4 stems to get drums and bass on their own.
  • Change the key to fit your voice with the pitch changer, also in Safari.

Frequently asked questions

Can I remove vocals from a song on iPhone for free?

Yes. Open this page in Safari, upload the song from Files and download the instrumental MP3. It is free with no sign-up: 1 fast split a day, for songs up to 10 minutes.

Do I need to install an app?

No. Everything works in Safari or Chrome on iPhone. The separation runs on our server, and the result downloads to the Files app.

Where does the instrumental go after I download it?

Safari saves it to Files, in the Downloads folder (On My iPhone or iCloud Drive, depending on your Safari settings). From there you can share it to GarageBand, CapCut, iMovie or any app.

Can I remove vocals from a song in Apple Music or Spotify?

No. Streaming songs are protected and cannot be exported as files, so no web tool can process them. Use a song file you own, a purchased download, or your own recording.

Does it work on iPad and Android too?

Yes. The same page works in Safari on iPad and in Chrome on Android phones. On Android the file goes to the Downloads folder.

How long does it take on a phone?

About 20 to 60 seconds for a 3-minute song, because the work happens on our server, not on your phone. Upload time depends on your connection.

Can I split a song without uploading it, for free and without limits?

Yes. Choose In your browser above the drop zone. The same Demucs htdemucs model runs on your own device, so the file is never uploaded and there is no daily limit, for 2 or 4 stems and songs up to 8 minutes. The first run downloads the 172 MB model once. It is slower than the server, usually a few minutes for a 3-minute song, and works best in a recent Chrome, Edge or Safari on a laptop or desktop.

Is my song kept?

Files are stored privately, used only to make your result and deleted within 24 hours. They are never used for training.
