There is no file size cap from us, because nothing is uploaded. Very long videos use more memory, so a phone may be slow with an hour-long recording. For those, cut the video into parts first or use a computer.
Check that nothing is uploaded
Many sites say no upload. You can check this one yourself in a minute:
- Open the page on a computer and press F12 (or Cmd+Option+I on a Mac) to open developer tools.
- Choose the Network tab.
- Drop your video and extract the audio.
- Look at the list: no request carries your file. Only small analytics pings appear, with no audio in them.
This is also why extraction is fast: the file does not have to travel anywhere.

MP3 or WAV?
- MP3 at 256 kbps is small and plays everywhere. Choose it for sharing, phones and podcasts.
- WAV is lossless and larger. Choose it if you will edit the audio again, so it is not re-compressed twice.
- The soundtrack inside most videos is already AAC, so WAV cannot add quality; it only avoids losing more.

Is my video uploaded?
