What is free, exactly
Here is the free plan with no soft wording. There is no sign-up. The free plan gives each browser 30 credits every UTC day. One generation costs 10 credits and produces two versions of the song from two different models, so a full day of free credits is 3 generations and 6 songs. Credits reset daily at 00:00 UTC and do not roll over.

What free does not include
The honest side of a free tier is the list of things you cannot do with it. Knowing these in advance saves you from publishing something you were not allowed to publish.
- Commercial use. Free songs are for personal, non-commercial use. Monetized videos, ads, paid products and client work need the Pro commercial licence.
- Songs longer than 2 minutes. Pro goes up to 3 minutes and Premier to 4.
- Full-length WAV stems of your generated songs. Free users hear a 30-second preview, and Pro users can export full stems for 20 credits.
- Watermark-free lyric videos. Free MP4 exports carry a small Made with TuneSplit mark.
- Unlimited volume. Once the daily 30 credits are used, you wait for the next UTC day or buy a credit pack.
Pro is $9.90 a month or $99 a year with 450 credits a month (45 generations, 90 songs). Premier is $24.90 a month or $259 a year with 1,000 credits. Credit packs are 200 credits for $4.90 or 600 credits for $12.90 and stay valid for 12 months. The pricing page always has the current figures.
Hear what free produces
Free songs are not a cut-down model. They come from the same two models that paid plans use, and the only difference is length and licence. These unedited generations were made at the 2-minute-or-shorter size you get on the free plan, apart from the first, which is 2:30 and shows what a paid-length song sounds like.
Sunlight B (ACE-Step, 1:44) took 27 seconds. Late Shift (MiniMax Music v2, 1:08) took 59 seconds. Lo-fi Study (ACE-Step, 2:00, instrumental) took 11 seconds. All three fit inside the free 2-minute limit, and each costs one generation of 10 credits, which returns a second version as well.
So a day of free credits is roughly three experiments. Spend the first on a rough idea, use the second to fix the prompt, and keep the third for the version you want to download.
Free tiers compared
Free is not the same across tools. Most competitors give a daily or monthly credit balance that needs sign-up, and the number of songs it equals depends on how they price a generation. This table uses figures the sites publish themselves, plus third-party figures where marked. It is accurate as of Oct 2026, but plans change, so check each site.
| Tool | Free allowance | Sign-up to generate | Cheapest paid plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| TuneSplit | First song, then 30 credits a day = 6 songs | Not for the first song | Pro $9.90 a month |
| aisong.io | 30 credits a day, 2 songs per generation | Yes | $14.99 a month |
| aisongmaker.io | 30 credits a day | Sign-up prompts | $14.99 a month |
| Suno | About 50 credits a day | Yes | About $10 a month |
| Udio | Free plan | Yes | $10 a month |
| MusicGPT | About 500 credits a month (third-party figure) | Yes | About $9.99 a month on annual billing |
| freemusic.ai | Free credits after sign-up, amount not clear on the page | Yes | Plans from about $9.67 |
| nafy.ai | Free credits after sign-up, amount not clear on the page | Yes | About $12.42 a month on annual billing |
A few honest notes. Suno's daily allowance is larger on paper and its community is far bigger, so it is a good place to browse and be inspired. Where TuneSplit stands out is that no registration is needed, the daily allowance is given in plain songs, and a free MP3 download is allowed. Several rivals state their free amounts in credits without saying how many songs that is.
Free tools beyond song generation
The free plan is not only a song box. A few of the utilities are useful on their own, and they have separate limits.
Stem splitter, vocal remover and vocal isolator
Three files a day, up to 10 minutes each, in MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG or MP4. Choose 2 stems (vocals and music) or 4 stems (vocals, drums, bass, other) with Demucs htdemucs. A 3-minute song usually takes 20 to 60 seconds, and you can download every stem as MP3 on the free plan. After 3 files, extra files cost 30 credits per started 5 minutes.
BPM and key finder
Fully in your browser, so the file is never uploaded. You get BPM with half and double-time alternatives, a confidence value, the key, a Camelot code and a runner-up key.
Pitch and speed changer
Move pitch by up to 12 semitones either way, and speed from 50 to 150 percent, independently. Preview and download WAV.
Lyrics generator
Five free drafts a day with topic, style (including rap), mood, language and a short or full structure. Edit and send to the song generator in one click.
Getting the most from the free plan
- Be specific in your first prompt. Genre, vocal, two instruments and a scene gets you further than a long, vague paragraph.
- Use the fast version as a sketch. The ACE-Step take often arrives in 10 to 30 seconds, so you can check if the direction is right while the richer MiniMax take renders.
- Change one variable per generation. You only have three a day, so learn from each one.
- Write lyrics before you spend credits. Drafts from the lyrics generator are free, and fixing words costs nothing.
- Join Daily Song if you like a theme. One shared theme a day, 3 votes a day, a leaderboard and a streak.
Rules still apply when you use it for free. Upload only audio you have the rights to. There is no voice cloning, no covers in a real singer's voice and no imitation of named artists. Lyrics are moderated, and uploads to the splitter are stored privately and deleted within 24 hours.
Frequently asked questions
Is TuneSplit really a free AI music generator?
Yes. The first song is free with no sign-up, and the free plan then gives 30 credits every UTC day. A generation costs 10 credits and returns two versions, so you get 3 generations and 6 songs a day, up to 2 minutes each, with MP3 download. No credit card is requested for the free plan.
Do I have to sign up?
No. You can describe the music, generate it and play it right away. The daily 30 credits are counted per browser and reset at 00:00 UTC, and your songs are saved in this browser under My songs. After a purchase you get a recovery key to use them on another device.
Can I use free songs commercially?
No. Free songs are for personal, non-commercial use, such as private sharing, school projects and non-monetized posts. Anything that earns money, like monetized videos, ads, a paid podcast or client work, needs the Pro commercial licence. Check the Terms page for the current text before publishing.
Can I download free songs?
Yes. Every song has an MP3 download on the free plan, and every song gets a public share page too. Some competing tools limit downloads on free plans, which is why it is worth checking. The stem splitter also lets you download every stem as MP3 for free.
How many free songs can I make per day?
Six. You get 30 credits every UTC day, a generation costs 10 credits, and each generation returns 2 songs from two different models. That is 3 generations. Unused credits do not roll over, so the balance goes back to 30 at the start of the next UTC day.
How long can free songs be?
Free songs run up to 2 minutes. Pro, at $9.90 a month, extends this to 3 minutes and Premier, at $24.90 a month, to 4 minutes. Most test generations came out between 1 and 2.5 minutes depending on the model and the amount of lyrics you provide.
What happens when I run out of credits?
You can wait until the next UTC day for 30 new credits, subscribe to a plan, or buy a credit pack: 200 credits for $4.90 or 600 credits for $12.90, valid for 12 months. If a generation fails, its 10 credits are refunded automatically, so errors do not drain your balance.
How does the free tier compare with Suno or aisong.io?
Suno lists about 50 credits a day and aisong.io 20 credits a day, both requiring registration to generate. TuneSplit needs no sign-up and gives each browser 30 credits a day, expressed as 6 songs. Suno has a bigger community; the right pick depends on whether you value library size or a no-registration start.
Is there a watermark on free songs?
Audio songs have no audible watermark and download as MP3. The one place a mark appears is the lyric video maker: free MP4 exports show a small Made with TuneSplit label, which Pro removes. Videos are rendered in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.
Is it safe to upload my own music to the free tools?
Files you send to the stem splitter go to private storage, are deleted within 24 hours and are never used for training. The BPM finder, pitch changer and lyric video maker work fully in your browser, so those files never leave your device. Upload only audio you have the rights to use.
