The Daily Song is a free daily songwriting challenge on TuneSplit. A new theme appears every day at midnight UTC. Make a song for it with the AI song generator (free credits cover it), submit one entry, vote for up to three other songs and come back tomorrow to grow your streak. The top-voted song becomes yesterday's winner.

How the Daily Song works

Everyone gets the same theme on the same day — a short prompt such as “Rainy Monday” or “Road Trip Anthem” with a suggested style and mood. You don't have to follow the style; the theme is the only rule. The theme changes at 00:00 UTC, so a day is the same day for everybody in the world.

  • One entry per person per day. You can swap your entry for a better song, but swapping resets its votes to zero.
  • Three votes per day. You can't vote for your own song, and votes from one network are limited to stop ballot stuffing.
  • The leaderboard sorts today's songs by votes; ties go to the song that was submitted first.
  • When the day ends, the song with the most votes becomes “Yesterday's winner” at the top of the page.

Streaks

Submitting an entry counts as playing that day. Play on consecutive days and your streak grows by one each day; your best streak is kept forever. Miss a full day and the current streak resets to zero the next time you play. Today's entry keeps the streak alive until the end of tomorrow, so you never lose a streak just because you play at a different time of day.

Your streak is tied to your browser. If you switch devices, use the recovery key from My songs to bring your songs, credits and streak with you.

Share card

After you submit, you get a share card: an image with today's theme, your song title and your streak, plus a link to your song's page where anyone can listen without registering. Post it to Instagram Stories, TikTok, X or a group chat and ask friends to vote.

Songs you submit become public on their share page and on the leaderboard. Free songs are for personal, non-commercial use, like any free TuneSplit song.

Fair play

Entries must be songs you made on TuneSplit for today's theme. Lyrics are moderated; songs that harass people, imitate a real artist's voice or copy someone else's lyrics are removed. Vote for the songs you actually like — automated or bulk voting is blocked.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Daily Song free?

Yes. Reading the theme, listening, voting and submitting are all free, and the song itself fits in the 30 free credits every visitor gets each day (one generation = 10 credits = 2 versions). No sign-up or card is needed.

When does the theme change?

Every day at 00:00 UTC. The page always shows today's theme number, so you can tell when a new day has started wherever you live.

How many songs can I submit?

One per day. If you make a better song later, you can swap your entry, but the new entry starts again from zero votes so votes can't be moved between songs.

How many votes do I get?

Three votes per day. You can't vote for your own song, and there is a limit per network to keep the leaderboard fair.

How does the streak work?

Each day you submit an entry, your streak grows by one if you also played the day before. Skip a whole day and it starts again at one. Your best streak is saved.

Do I need to sign up?

No. Your entry, votes and streak are tied to this browser. If you have a recovery key from a purchase, enter it in My songs to use them on another device.

Who sees my song?

Submitting makes your song public: it appears on the leaderboard and on its own share page. You choose the display name shown next to it.

Can I use my Daily Song commercially?

Songs made with free credits are for personal, non-commercial use. Songs made with a paid plan or purchased credits come with a commercial licence.

What happens to yesterday's songs?

The top-voted song is shown as yesterday's winner. All entries keep their share pages, so the links you posted keep working.
