A Suno Alternative That Does Things Differently

Suno is the name most people think of for AI songs, and Udio is the other big one. TuneSplit is a smaller, newer site with a different mix of features. This page lays out what each does well, where TuneSplit differs, and what each costs, so you can decide with the facts in front of you instead of a sales pitch.

TuneSplit is a Suno alternative built around a different mix: every prompt returns 2 versions from 2 different models, and it adds a free vocal remover and stem splitter, a lyric video maker and a Daily Song. Free use is 30 credits every UTC day, which is 3 generations or 6 songs, with no sign-up.

What Suno does well

A fair comparison starts with the strengths of the product people already use. Suno earned its reputation. Its current v5 model has a strong name for vocal quality and arrangement, and a lot of listeners reach for it first because songs tend to come back sounding complete. Suno also has a large community: a feed of public songs, people sharing prompts and styles, and a library of tips written by users. If you want inspiration from thousands of other creators, that community is a real advantage that a newer site cannot match.

Suno's free plan gives a daily credit allowance, listed on its pricing page at 50 credits per day as of Oct 2026, and its paid tiers add more credits and commercial rights under its own terms. It has years of head start in features, polish and name recognition. We make no claim that TuneSplit sounds better. We have not run a blind listening test, and with a model-driven product the answer often depends on the genre and the prompt.

Udio is a serious product too, with its own audience and its own approach to credits. If either already fits how you work, there is no reason to leave. What follows is for people who want to know what else is out there and what makes TuneSplit different, not a case against the products above.

Where TuneSplit is different

TuneSplit is not trying to be a copy of Suno. It is a set of music tools around a song generator, and the differences come from that.

  • Two models per prompt. Every generation returns two versions from two different models, MiniMax Music v2 and ACE-Step. You hear two takes on the same idea and pick the one you like, instead of spending credits to re-roll.
  • Free stems and vocal remover. The vocal remover, stem splitter and vocal isolator are free tools: 3 files a day, up to 10 minutes each, with free MP3 downloads of every stem.
  • A lyric video maker. Turn a song and its lyrics into a 9:16 or 16:9 MP4 with an animated waveform, rendered in your browser.
  • A Daily Song. One theme a day for everyone: make a song, submit it, vote, keep a streak and see yesterday's winner.
  • A low price per song. Pro is $9.90 a month for 450 credits, or 90 songs. Details and the arithmetic are below.
  • No sign-up. You can hear what the tool does without registering or giving an email.

Not everything is a win for TuneSplit. Free songs are limited to two minutes and personal, non-commercial use, and the community is only beginning with the Daily Song.

Two models, two versions: hear it for yourself

Here is the same prompt run through both models. The prompt was an upbeat indie pop song with a bright female vocal, warm synths and claps, 112 bpm, about a summer road trip. Version A came from MiniMax Music v2: 2:30 long, ready in about 94 seconds. Version B came from ACE-Step: 1:44 long, ready in about 27 seconds. Same lyrics, different arrangements.

Which is better is for your ears. The point is that you get both without paying twice. The ACE-Step version usually comes back in 10 to 30 seconds, so there is something to listen to quickly, and the MiniMax version takes about 60 to 95 seconds. In our experience the first playable version arrives in about a minute. These are unedited outputs, kept as made.

Prices compared, as of Oct 2026

Prices change often. The competitor figures below were taken from their public pricing pages in October 2026 and should be rechecked before you rely on them. Suno's row was checked on suno.com/pricing on 2026-10-18: Free is 50 credits a day with no song downloads, Pro is 2,500 credits and 20 song downloads a month, and Premier is 10,000 credits and 60 song downloads a month. TuneSplit's paid plans are live and priced as shown.

Free tierEntry paid planHigher planExtra credits
Suno50 credits a day, no song downloads, no commercial usePro, $10 a month ($8 billed yearly): 2,500 credits, 20 song downloadsPremier, $30 a month ($24 billed yearly): 10,000 credits, 60 song downloadsTop-ups on paid plans only
UdioFree, $0 a monthStandard, $10 a month ($8 billed annually)Pro, $30 a month ($24 billed annually)100 credits for $3, 1,000 credits for $25
TuneSplit30 credits every UTC day: 3 generations, 6 songsPro, $9.90 a month or $99 a year: 450 creditsPremier, $24.90 a month or $259 a year: 1,000 credits200 credits for $4.90, 600 credits for $12.90, valid 12 months

Look at how each side defines a unit. On TuneSplit, one generation costs 10 credits and returns two songs. A failed generation is refunded automatically. Pro's 450 credits are therefore 45 generations or 90 songs a month. Spread over $9.90, that is about 11 cents a song. On the annual plan at $99, about 9 cents a song. A 600-credit pack at $12.90 works out to about 11 cents a song, and a 200-credit pack at $4.90 to about 12 cents.

We have not worked out a per-song figure for Suno or Udio, because credit costs differ by model and feature, and we would rather not guess. Do the math with the current numbers from each site, using the same definition of a song and the same length, before you decide.

Side-by-side: what each product offers

This table sticks to things we can state from public information or from our own product. Where we have not verified a competitor detail, the cell says so rather than guessing.

The honest summary: if you need the biggest community and the most mature feature set, the incumbents have a head start. If you want two takes at once, a toolbox that includes stems and lyric video, and a clear price per song, TuneSplit is built for that.

Stems and a vocal remover on every song

Many people want more than a finished mix. They want the vocal on its own to rework a line, the instrumental to use as a backing track, or the drums for a sample. TuneSplit treats that as a basic part of the product. The stem splitter uses the Demucs htdemucs model and separates a song into two stems, vocals and music, or four stems: vocals, drums, bass and other. A three-minute song usually takes 20 to 60 seconds. Every stem can be downloaded as an MP3 for free.

Free users get 3 files a day, up to 10 minutes each, and the tool accepts MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG and MP4. Uploads go to private storage and are deleted within 24 hours, and they are never used for training. Beyond 3 files a day, extra files cost 30 credits per started 5 minutes.

This is the 4-stem split of the Sunlight version A, first 60 seconds, which took 88 seconds:

Vocals
Drums
Bass
Other (synths, guitars)
Instrumental (no vocals)
Sunlight (version A), first 60 s, split with Demucs htdemucs into 4 stems; instrumental = drums + bass + other. Unedited output.

For a song generated on TuneSplit, you can preview its stems for 30 seconds for free, and full-length WAV stems cost 20 credits on Pro. Only upload audio you have the rights to. That includes your own recordings and songs you generated; for a song from any other service, check the terms you accepted there.

The Daily Song

The Daily Song posts one theme a day for everyone. You write a song for the theme, submit it, vote on other entries (you get 3 votes a day), keep a daily streak, share a card image and see the leaderboard and yesterday's winner. It is a light, social way to practice, and it is how we are growing a community.

Who should consider TuneSplit, and who might not need to

TuneSplit tends to suit people who like to compare takes, who need stems or a lyric video right after making a song, who want a plain price per song, or who want to try a generator without registering first. It is also a reasonable fit for students and hobbyists who want a daily free allowance and a simple tool.

It may not fit if your priority is a deep community, a huge library of existing public songs, or the longest possible tracks on a free plan. Free songs here are capped at two minutes. If a different service already gives you what you want, keep using it.

Whatever you pick, respect the rules. TuneSplit does not offer voice cloning or AI covers in a real singer's voice, and lyrics are moderated. Do not ask for songs that imitate a real artist, and only upload audio you have the rights to. A DMCA contact is on the Terms page.

Frequently asked questions

Is TuneSplit a free alternative to Suno?

It has a free tier: no sign-up is needed, and each browser gets 30 free credits every UTC day, which is 3 generations or 6 songs. Free songs run up to 2 minutes and are for personal, non-commercial use. It is a different product with its own strengths, not a claim that it sounds better.

Does TuneSplit sound better than Suno?

We do not claim that. Suno has a well-regarded v5 model and a large community. TuneSplit uses two different models, MiniMax Music v2 and ACE-Step, and gives you both versions of each prompt so you can judge for yourself. Listen to the examples on this page and decide by ear for your genre.

What does TuneSplit do that Suno does not?

The difference is the mix: two versions from two models for every prompt, a free stem splitter and vocal remover for any file, a lyric video maker, a Daily Song with votes and streaks, and a stated price per song. Suno may offer other things we do not, such as a larger community, so compare current features on both sites.

How much does TuneSplit cost compared with Suno and Udio?

As of Oct 2026, Suno lists Pro at $10 and Premier at $30 a month, and Udio lists Standard at $10 and Pro at $30. TuneSplit's Pro is $9.90 a month or $99 a year, Premier is $24.90 a month or $259 a year, and credit packs start at $4.90. Prices change, so verify on each site.

Can I use TuneSplit songs commercially?

Free songs are for personal, non-commercial use. The Pro plan includes a commercial licence, along with songs up to 3 minutes and full WAV stems. Check the terms on the pricing page before you publish anything for money. The same caution applies to any generator you use.

How long does it take to make a song?

The ACE-Step version usually takes 10 to 30 seconds and the MiniMax Music v2 version about 60 to 95 seconds, so the first playable version usually arrives within a minute. In our own examples, a lo-fi instrumental took about 11 seconds and a 2:30 indie pop song took about 94 seconds.

Do I need to sign up?

No. You can generate songs and hear the result with no registration. The daily free credits, saved songs, the Daily Song and any paid plan are tied to this browser, and a recovery key from a purchase lets you use them on another device. Failed generations are refunded automatically.

Can I split a song into vocals and instrumental for free?

Yes. The free stem splitter, vocal remover and vocal isolator accept 3 files a day, up to 10 minutes each, in MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG or MP4. You can choose 2 stems or 4 stems and download every stem as an MP3. Only use audio you own or have permission to process.

Can I use my Suno or Udio songs on TuneSplit?

You can use the free tools, such as the stem splitter, BPM finder, pitch changer or lyric video maker, on audio you have the right to use. Whether you may process or publish a song from another service depends on that service's terms and your plan, so check them first. TuneSplit cannot grant rights to someone else's output.

Can it copy a famous singer's voice?

No. TuneSplit does not offer voice cloning or covers in a real singer's voice, and prompts that try to imitate a real artist should be avoided. You can choose a female, male or instrumental vocal type and a style, and lyrics are moderated. Report concerns through the DMCA contact on the Terms page.

Are these competitor prices up to date?

They are accurate as of Oct 2026 based on public pricing pages, and we plan to recheck them monthly. Suno's prices, credits and download limits were rechecked on suno.com/pricing on 2026-10-18. Plans and credits change often, so confirm the current numbers on the official sites before you make a decision.
