What Moises does well
Moises is much more than a stem splitter, and a fair comparison has to start there. Its homepage says it can separate 27 stem types, including vocals, guitar, bass, drums, piano, keys, winds and strings. It adds practice tools on top: a chord finder, a speed changer, and lyric transcription. It runs as a web app and as apps for desktop, iPhone, iPad and Android, so a song you split on your laptop is ready on your phone at rehearsal.
If you want a guitar or piano stem, chords that follow along as you play, or one library of practice songs on every device, Moises is built for that and TuneSplit is not. TuneSplit splits into 2 or 4 stems only; there is no separate guitar or piano stem.
Where TuneSplit is different
TuneSplit is a single-purpose tool. It does one job, splitting a song into stems you can download, and it tries to make that job quick and clear.
- Nothing to install. It runs in any modern browser, on a laptop or a phone.
- No account for the free tier. 3 files a day, up to 10 minutes each, with the MP3 download included.
- Published limits. The free allowance and the credit price are on the pricing page, not behind a login.
- Short retention. Uploads and stems are deleted within 24 hours and never used for training.
- Practice tools that are free and separate: a BPM finder, key finder, tempo changer and pitch shifter you can use on any stem.

A practice routine with stems
You do not need a practice app to practice with stems. This routine uses only the free tools on TuneSplit.
- Split the song into 4 stems and download the part you play, plus the full mix without it.
- Find the tempo and key with the BPM finder and key finder.
- Slow the backing track to 75 percent with the tempo changer. Pitch stays the same.
- If the song sits too high or low for you, shift the key with the pitch shifter.
- Play along at the slow speed until it is clean, then step up to 90 and 100 percent.
Your rights and privacy
Stem splitting is for audio you own, have permission to use, or are using for private practice. Splitting a song does not give you the right to publish its vocals or instrumental. Files go to private storage, are used only to make your result, are deleted within 24 hours and are never used for training. Rights holders can reach us through the contact on the Terms page.
Frequently asked questions
What is a free alternative to Moises?
TuneSplit is a free browser alternative for splitting songs into stems. It gives 3 files a day, up to 10 minutes each, split into 2 or 4 stems, with every stem downloadable as MP3 and no sign-up. It does not have Moises' guitar and piano stems or chord tools.
Is TuneSplit better than Moises?
For a quick stem download without an app or account, it is simpler. For daily practice with guitar or piano stems, chords and lyrics across devices, Moises does more. They are built for different jobs.
Can TuneSplit separate guitar or piano?
No. TuneSplit splits into vocals, drums, bass and other. Guitar, piano and keys all land in the Other stem. If you need them apart, use a tool with more stem types, such as Moises.
Do I need an account?
Not for the free tier. 3 files a day work without signing up. You only need an account if you buy credits, so they can be kept for you.
Does TuneSplit have a mobile app?
No. It runs in the browser on phones and computers, so there is nothing to install. Downloads save to your device like any other file.
How much does TuneSplit cost after the free files?
Each started 5 minutes costs 30 credits. Credits never expire and there is no subscription. The 3 free daily files never need credits.
Which model does TuneSplit use?
Demucs htdemucs, an open-source source separation model from Meta research, running on cloud GPUs. A 3-minute song usually takes 20 to 60 seconds.
Is my upload private?
Files go to private storage, are used only to make your result, and are deleted within 24 hours. They are never used for training.
